Bob Rennie // Rennie Group
The founder of Rennie, Bob Rennie is recognized for his leadership in envisioning new and innovative strategies in development risk management and marketing real estate, leading to landmark projects such as restructuring the Olympic Village and Woodward’s, a development in Canada’s poorest postal code. The company has had over $6 billion in project sales on behalf of clients since 2004, with over $720 million in 2014 alone. An acknowledged expert on the local economy, Bob’s annual address at the Urban Development Institute’s AGM has become an industry bellwether.
Also known for having built a world renowned collection of contemporary art, Bob chairs the North American Acquisitions Committee at Tate Modern, is a member of the Tate International Council, serves as trustee for the Art Institute of Chicago and is the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond and Golden Jubilee awards, the Order of BC and a doctorate from Emily Carr University. He renovated and restored Wing Sang, the oldest structure in Chinatown, to include a privately funded museum space with regular exhibitions of works from Rennie Collection.
David Punnamannil // Lighthouse Voyage
David reminds us we matter. He’s a lover of people and their stories, especially those of healing and freedom from bondage.
Growing up, David split his time between Dubai and India. He moved to Canada with his family when he was 13 years old. In the summer of 2014 David had an opportunity to go back to India and work with BAM and Mercy Missions, freeing women and children from exploitation in India and Nepal. The experience of bringing hope and freedom to those in bondage fuelled his passion to establish equality for women and children. After returning to Canada, David launched Lighthouse Voyage as a practical way to bring change to India and to uphold the rights of the voiceless.
As founder and president, David’s vision for Lighthouse is driven by the deep conviction that each person is immeasurably valuable. He deeply desires to bring hope to all lives. David is finishing the final year of his degree in International Studies. Post graduation David aspires for Lighthouse to further its impact throughout India, continuing the work of rescuing those in captivity.
